Serving Chicagoland’s wildlife and pest control needs for over 40 years!

1. What are your hours? Is weekend service extra?

We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year. There is no additional charge for weekend service.

2. How can you know that all of the animals are out of my attic?

At ABC Humane Wildlife Control we have a proven process that we have developed over the last 40 years to remove all animals from your attic. After we remove the first animal we set a semi-permeable barrier to indicate if you have continued animal activity. After your unique indicator has been intact for a period of time we know that all the animals in your home have been removed.

3. How do we know that you are removing the animals in our home?

The 35 licensed wildlife biologists at ABC Humane Wildlife are experts in animal behavior and biology. Most animal species are highly territorial and view your home as their territory. Animals often leave pheromones to mark their territory and these scents will stop other animals from entering the removal area.

4. Once the animal has been caught how will you know when to remove the animals from our property?

We view every homeowner as a partner in our goal of removing any problem wildlife and remediating the damage that they have caused. As such we request that the homeowner or a responsible party call us before 8:00 AM when an animal has entered the removal device. All removal devices must be checked by 8:00 AM, 7 days a week. We have a 24 hour phone number to call in animals in removal devices anytime, 847-870-7175.

5. Do you remove birds and bird nests?

We can remove any vacated bird nests but due to federal legislation we cannot remove most actively nesting birds. The unprotected bird species that can be removed year round are Pigeons, European Starlings, and House Sparrows. Click here to view pictures of these 3 birds.

6. I have an injured or orphaned wild animal what should I do?

ABC Wildlife is not a wildlife rehabilitator but here are some links for some great organizations that can help you with your wildlife problem.

7. I saw a coyote in my yard what do I do?

Coyotes are very common and are native to our area. In most cases they are afraid of people and will not threaten you or your family. Removing coyotes can be a very time consuming and expensive process. Please review the information provided by the State of Illinois to learn more about this native species.

8. What do you charge for your services?

At ABC Humane Wildlife Control we know that each problem is individual to your home and life. We address each situation with a custom over the phone consultation. Call ABC Wildlife at 847-870-7175 today to receive your free custom quote.

9. Do you provide service throughout Chicago?

ABC Wildlife is proud to serve the parts of Chicago that are north of I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway) and has done so for over 40 years. Unfortunately at this time we cannot service parts of the city that are south of I-290 as we are located in north suburban Arlington Heights.

10. What should I do when the animals have been removed from my home?

ABC Humane Wildlife Control offers free quotes for animal damage repair and remediation. We have over 8 team members on staff that remediate animal damage and repair homes like yours. As part of your initial animal removal inspection your personal licensed inspector can quote repairs and remediation to your home.

What They Say About ABC Humane Wildlife

I arranged for them to install wire screening on 2 sides of a concrete stoop to prevent animals from digging under my porch. (I have used this company in the past to remove animals from other parts of my property. They suggested this proactive work.) They called to remind me several days before their appointment. They came as promised. They did a great job of preserving landscaping gravel on the side before they dug. After digging down approximately 18 inches, they installed wire mesh screening down the 2 sides of the stoop. They then covered the area with the dirt and final layer of landscaping stones. You couldn’t even tell the area had been excavated when they were done!

We had bees crawling under exterior siding through a gap between siding and brick wall and wanted them eliminated. Phil the technician from ABC arrived at the scheduled time. He observed the bees and identified them as yellow jackets. Phil said he could eradicate them with a powder treatment and the bee activity would die down in a couple of days and we would be finished with the problem. Phil said if we still noticed bee activity after 7 days to call ABC and they would come back to re-treat the nest at no charge. It is just 3 days since Phil treated the nest and we have observed zero bee activity. We are very happy with the service and the remedy to our problem.

One by one, they removed a family of nine flying squirrels from our attic. The attic was completely cleaned and sanitized, and new insulation as blown in. All went well. It was easy to make appointments with ABC Humane Wildlife Control, and they were all very profession and prompt with their service. We dealt with many on their staff while trying to catch all the squirrels, and each of the representatives were friendly and helpful. We had some issues with the condition of some of the traps, but that was eventually resolved. They are a very helpful organization and the staff is very knowledgeable.
